In keeping with specialist schemes the intention is that you do not repay the debt until you die or sell the property. Providing you pay the interest each month, your debt remains the same, unlike other specialist schemes. The amount you can borrow under such schemes are based on your incomes including pensions not your age or life expectancy. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. Advantages of Interest Only Mortgages
Disadvantages of Interest Only Mortgages
If you do not qualify for an equity release plan or would prefer an Interest Only Mortgage please complete our online mortgage enquiry form. Statutory Warning For researching and arranging the best Interest Only Mortgage scheme for you, we will make a charge. This can be paid by you either as a fee, usually 0.5% of the loan payable on application to the lender, but subject to a minimum of £750 and any commission we receive from the lender will be refunded to you, or a combination of fee and commission, so that the total remuneration received would not be less than £750. We would retain any commission received from the lender towards this fee. Where the commission received is less than £750 you would pay a fee for the balance on completion. |
